When the world was first introduced to magic, Gods and mortals shared the world of Kelem like equals. But the races of mortals quickly got corrupted, and wars started ravaging all world. To counter that, the gods had a plan and created 9 items of great power and bestowed them to the mortal's best fighter: Ishtar.
The gods had only one request, to use these items wisely and according to the Olde ways, in order to not bring curse upon mortal races. With the help of these items, and with peace restored, the gods left Kelem to the other races, never to return.
As for the items, people started encouraging Ishtar to use them in all sort of ways, creating cities, continents and relics alike. Everyone called them the Stars of Ishtar and treated its owner as a prophet. However, some of his works were not deemed worthy by the stars and Ishtar was cursed and buried somewhere in Kelem.
The several races discussed among them who was worthy to keep these stars, which lead to the Great Magic War that brought the beginning of the First Dragon Age. Dragons won the war, but the other races were able to bring these items to safe places, where they wre never seen again.
Nowadays, not much is known about their shape, or their powers, but several bounty hunters spend their lives looking for clues and engaging in jobs that can lead them closer to one of the stars.
